College Prep in 5 Steps

Step 1

Keep you grades up.  Colleges look at grades during the admission process.  It is extremely important to try and increase your grade performance during your junior and senior years

Step 2

Get to know Your Guidance councilor.  They have important information regarding the college planning process.  Discuss your plans with them and get valuable feedback.

Step3

Practice taking your college entrance exams.  Enroll in a SAT prep course and take the PSAT exams to help you prepare for the real thing.  Your guidance councilor can provide you with a list of test dates and locations as well as information on SAT prep courses.

Step 4

Meet with the college representatives that come to your school.  Get an idea of what kind of school would be the best fit for you.  Consider attending local college fairs and visiting local college campuses to kind of get a feel for college life.

Step 5

Keep a record of all the research you do to help you compare programs during the decision making process.
